Overview

ISMIS is an established and prestigious conference for exchanging the latest research results in building intelligent systems. It provides a basis for exchanging research results and transferring scientific achievements towards industrial applications. The scope of ISMIS is to present a wide range of topics related to the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques related to areas such as decision support, knowledge representation, logical programming, knowledge-based systems, machine learning, planning, computer vision, information retrieval, configuration and diagnosis. The conference also focuses on interdisciplinary research in AI-related fields, for example, decision support systems and human decision making or recommender systems and human personality, and knowledge-based systems development and cognitive aspects of knowledge understanding.

COVID-19 Information

Due to the ongoing COVID-19 circumstances around the world, ISMIS 2022 will be a hybrid conference (In presence participation to the conference will be welcomed, but it will be possible to attend it virtually).

Conference Scope

This year’s conference theme spans over two main directions: “Towards Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence” and “Human-centric Artificial Intelligence”. With this focus, ISMIS2022 aims at contributing to emerging challenges relative to the development of robust, trustworthy AI systems capable of both “understanding” and “be understandable by” humans, adapting to complex real-world environments, and appropriately interacting in complex social settings. The increased relevance of areas such as autonomous driving, intelligent sales assistants, and strategic application domains such as medicine, intelligent maintenance, and eLearning require systems with high accuracy, robustness, accountability, fairness, transparency, interpretability and ethics.

ISMIS 2022 is intended to attract individuals who are actively engaged both in theoretical and practical aspects of intelligent systems. The goal is to provide a platform for a useful exchange between theoreticians and practitioners, and to foster the cross-fertilization of ideas. PAPER SUBMISSIONS
Authors are invited to submit original unpublished papers that demonstrate current research on one of the session topics of interest. Papers should be prepared in PDF using the Springer LNCS/LNAI style (max 10 pages). All submitted papers will be reviewed by the members of the ISMIS PC. Research Track papers should be submitted in PDF form via ISMIS 2022 Online Submission System.

PUBLICATIONS OF PAPERS
The ISMIS 2022 proceedings will be published by Springer in Lecture Notes in Artificial Intelligence. Authors of best papers will be invited to submit their extended versions to the Journal of Intelligent Information Systems (JIIS) published by Springer. Fast Track Processing will be used to have them reviewed and published.

Industry Session

We invite you to submit papers to the ISMIS’2022 Industry Session. The session is part of the ISMIS 2022 conference, which will be organized as a hybrid event (both remote and in-person) on Oct 3rd – 5th, 2022.


SCOPE AND OBJECTIVES
The session will be devoted to the applications of various intelligent methods, algorithms, and tools related to Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in industry. The aim of this session is to create a forum for exchange of ideas between the leading researchers and industry practitioners. Submissions should address practical problems and/or business applications and should be innovative. Architectures, tools, and practical implementations related to the topics described below are also of interest to this session.

PUBLICATIONS OF PAPERS
Accepted papers will be published in the edited post-conference book published in the Springer Series Studies in Computational Intelligence.
